We’re a small, experienced team of online accountants based in Newcastle upon Tyne and Blyth, helping businesses of all kinds stay on top of their accounts, tax and compliance. Founded on the belief that your accountant should be as easy to reach as they are good with numbers.
How we started…
Established in 2004, we’ve built a reputation for delivering practical advice, reliable support and outstanding customer service. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, we work with clients across the UK using secure cloud accounting software, allowing us to provide a personal service wherever your business is located.
Move On Accountants was founded by Jeff Neil with a straightforward idea: that small business owners and self-employed people deserve an accountant who genuinely understands what it’s like to run a business. Jeff had done it himself, multiple times, and knew first-hand that the last thing you need when you’re building something is an accountant who’s hard to reach, slow to respond, or talks in jargon.
So he built a practice that works the way business owners actually need it to: personal, responsive, and available when it matters.

Jeff Neil
Jeff has many years experience in small business as a director of several companies.
A member of the Institute of Financial Accountants and Institute of Public Accountants (AFA/MIPA), Jeff takes a pride in helping clients achieve their financial goals whilst working harmoniously with HMRC.
Claire Young
Claire is our head of marketing and PR. Having extensive experience in dealing with all types of media for British Gas and as Head of Communications for an NHS Trust.
Claire has worked as a freelance PR consultant and is an excellent singer currently doing gigs with a local shanty singing group.
Angela Savory
Angela was previously in the accounts department of a large multi national company and has now been with Move on Accountants for over 10 years.
A proud mother of two sons Angela ran a Freelance Contractor company and has specialist knowledge in the field.
Angela is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT).
Karen Eley
Karen has been associated with for Move On Accountants at various times for many years.
Starting as one of our clients running a successful haulage company, she then owned a sports shop at Gateshead Metrocentre then developed into sports memorabilia retail, both as a shop and as an online business.
Karen is a dog lover, particularly boxers, and one of her dogs has more followers on Instagram than we do!
Chris Ball
Chris is our payroll expert and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals.
His payroll experience includes clients in Retail, Construction, Care, Manufacturing and Services.
Chris enjoys balancing the demands of payroll against family time with his wife and daughter.
